James Bowman

Since 2000, James has worked in branding and advertising as an Art Director, Designer, and Writer. His work has been featured in Communication Arts, Print Magazine, Lürzer’s Archive, the national ADDYs, the San Diego Creative Show, and the 20/20 Project book.

James has been an active part of the San Diego creative community through volunteer work and as a past member of the AIGA San Diego board of directors. A love of design history and a passion for education led to his role as a lecturer and adjunct professor. He currently teaches in in the School of Art + Design at San Diego State University. Seeing so many students flourish and succeed ranks among his most rewarding professional experiences.

When he steps away from his desk, James enjoys surfing, playing drums, Blue Note records, good tea, and Saturday morning pancakes..
